Australia 2017 - Day 52 – 15th April

Day 52

It was an early surf lesson for Billy this morning so Justin, Dylan and I went with him and James to Brighton beach where he had quite a lengthy one on one lesson. He looked really good for a boy of his age, 8, and he seemed to be really enjoying it. Meanwhile, Dylan was just happy to be messing about on the beach. In or out of the water.

Sally had to work today so after we had had breakfast at the beach we met with the others back at the house and we spent the rest of the morning exploring Subiaco centre.  We called in to see Sally in Linney’s during our walk around town. I then headed off to the Subiaco Hotel for a midday drink while waiting for the others to catch up with me.

I was having a lovely peaceful lunchtime here

Then this lot appeared!!

When they arrived we all had lunch together.  I know it was the Easter weekend but it was so quiet that it made Saturday feel like a quiet Sunday.

After lunch we went home for the grown-ups to get ready to go out in the evening.  We were to leave at around 5.00pm after the baby sitter arrived so we could catch the sunset st the beach.  The taxi picked us up when we were ready and our destination was City Beach. Here was a new restaurant called Hamptons which had been receiving great reviews.

Waiting for the taxi
We arrived in time to take a drink on the terrace and to watch the sun going down on the horizon across the Indian Ocean.  It was a great photo opportunity.

Then it was inside to our table to order our food and wine. When it arrived it was everything we had expected, if not better.  Justin being unusually adventurous had ordered a plate of Coral trout accompanied by various shellfish. So very un-Justin-like.  He did very well with it though and suffered no reaction afterwards.

After a really great evening it was time to call a taxi and head for home.  Another adventure awaits tomorrow I am sure.
