Got up early this morning to
finish packing ready to fly to Perth later today to stay with Justin’s brother
James and sister in law Sally with their children Billy and Tommy for a few
days. We decided to go to La Perouse for breakfast on the way to the airport.
So after getting everything in the car and checking the house over we set off
for Botany Bay.
We had a really plentiful
breakfast which I am sure set everybody up for the day ahead, then we proceeded
to the domestic airport in Sydney, parked the car and walked to the
terminal. The terminal was extremely
quiet and we soon checked in and got rid of our hold luggage, then went through
check in and waited for our Qantas flight to leave.
We boarded at 12.30 and the plane
left at about ten minutes past one in the afternoon. The flight was due to take about four and a
half hours and the strange thing was that when we were due to land, after a
flight of four and a half hours, we would still be in the same country.
The flight was very pleasant and
the food and drink was first class and the journey did not drag on at all. In
fact it gave me time to catch up on the latest series of The Big Bang Theory.
When we arrived in Perth we went
to pick up our car at the Thrifty desk, only to find that they had given us a
compact SUV which was not big enough inside to take three adults and two
children in child seats. They agreed to
change it for us but this time the gave us a Toyota Corolla, even smaller than
our original Holden compact SUV. So we complained again and were finally given
a Toyota Camry. This was fine and suited
our needs
We then set off to find James and
Sally’s house in Subiaco and it did not take long. Once there, we unloaded the car and
James, Justin and I went straight back out to see the local Aussi rules team,
West Coast Eagles who were home to the Sydney Swans this evening.
Shocking performance from the Swannies as they were humbled by the Eagles.

Then we returned to the house and
supper prepared by Sally and sat around talking into the early hours.
