Australia 2017 - Day 16 - 10th March

Day 16

Amy was having her hair done today so I dropped her off in North Sydney and headed on down to Milson's Point to see the harbour from this side.  I had a lovely brunch in Ripples restaurant nestled under the Harbour Bridge overlooking the water.

It was a glorious sunny morning and I sat watching all the activity in the harbour whilst eating my food.

After eating I decided to check the bridge from underneath.  It really is a magnificent structure.

While there, one of the Sydney tall ships came sailing under the bridge and created a terrific spectacle.

Sydney Harbour Tall Ships

A number of tall ships operate in Sydney Harbour, including the Southern Swan and the Bounty.

The Southern Swan made the voyage from England to Australia in 1988 to take part in the famous Australian Bicentennial First Fleet Re-enactment. Her berth has been at the historic Campbell's Cove, The Rocks ever since.

In 2007 the Bounty, a traditional three-masted trading vessel based at Darling Harbour, Sydney (named after the ship known for one of the most dramatic episodes in English maritime history – the infamous 'mutiny on the bounty in April 1789'), was sold to a Chinese company, but still operates locally.

I continued to wander this side of the bridge taking in views I had not experienced before, until it was time to think about picking up Amy.

Before picking her up I stopped in The Kirribilly Hotel for a little refreshment as I had a little time to kill.

I picked Amy up and after a brief stop on the way, we headed back to French's Forest.

When the kids had finished school we picked them up and drove to Manly to meet Justin at the World Food Market, where you can sit back and relax with friends and family, enjoy excellent food and great music in a beautiful location.

Each week the World Food Markets presents live music while you can  taste cuisine from around the world. Tables and chairs are provided but you can bring your own picnic rug and relax on the grass areas if all the tables are gone.  We managed to secure a table, thanks to Justin arriving before us

Amy chose to eat Turkish food, Justin had Mexican while I had a Spanish seafood paella

So much food to choose from

And live music to listen to when we ate.
