European Adventure 2019 - Transporter Bridges - Day 6

Day 6

Buchholz to Frankfurt

A very nice start to the day with another great breakfast in the hotel dining room before our last morning here.  Kev went for a swim while I had a walk around the gardens.

We were then given a short tour of the micro brewery where the beers we had been drinking for the last couple of days were brewed.  Can’t say we understood everything, but it was still very interesting.

It was then time to go and we packed the car and said goodbye as we checked out with fond memories of this very short stay.  I would recommend this hotel to anybody traveling in this part of Germany or those looking for a break in the journey towards Denmark.

As we began our long drive we detoured to Heidenau to visit our favourite bakery, the Ratzbackerei Latzel, where the lady made up our rolls for the journey just how we like them.

We then had a very long Autobahn journey which would see us eventually arrive in Frankfurt where we would stay for the next few days breaking up our journey towards the Atlantic coast of France.

OAS we finally entered Frankfurt we could not help but be impressed by the skyline that greeted us.

Our city centre hotel, the Excelsior was very nice but did not approach Frommanns Landhotel in any respect except one.

This welcome note was very well received.

After settling in and relaxing for a while we went out to see what was around.  It was very cosmopolitan and quite interesting and we settled for a meal and a drink in Good Guys.  Great way to finish off the day,

Tomorrow we will explore more of this city.
