Frankfurt to Orleans
Not a lot to report today as most of it was spent in the car driving the 689 kilometres from Frankfurt to Orleans. Orleans being our half way stop on our way to Rocheforte on the Atlantic coast of France where we are to visit our 6th Transporter bridge.
The motorway journey in the main was quite relaxing as we drove out of Germany and across France.
This however changed dramatically when a short leg of our journey took us through Paris.
We survived this however and eventually made it to Orleans which is a charming city but one we had little time to explore. The Ibis hotel we stayed in was very modern and very comfortable.
The district around our hotel was charming and impeccably clean for an area around the main railway and tram station.
It was a pity we did not have more time to see more here but our tight schedule did not allow for it. Vouzailles in Poitou Charente tomorrow and then Rocheforte.
